About Me & My Coaching Style
About me
Hi, my name is Laura Saltzer. Welcome to my website! Let me tell you a bit about myself.
When I first started to lift weights in 2016, I didn’t have much of an athletic background, performance or health goals in mind. I exercised exclusively as a means to change my body or punish myself for eating “bad” foods.
It took years of hard work, but now I have found balance. In my work as a personal trainer, my own experiences and struggles fuel my passion for helping others feel at peace in their bodies too. I am excited to be able to help others realize the best version of themselves. I teach my clients about their bodies and how to move so they can become the strongest, fiercest version of themselves. I hope I can help you to do the same.
Some Fun Facts About Me…
I became a CPT in 2019 through ACSM, and now work full time as a personal trainer. My first job in fitness was as a coach at Orangetheory.
I didn’t always know I wanted to be a personal trainer-in my first job after college I took care of giraffes, rhinos, & hippos (and more!). Had to fill out an incident report after getting kicked by an emu. 😔
Secret talent: I can say the alphabet backwards in less than 4 sec.
In high school I won “most likely to win cupcake wars” because I loved baking! I worked at a bakery for a couple years when I lived in Portland,OR. The fastest way to my heart is with a blondie from my favorite local spot!
I have a few places I call home, but I grew up in California. My family used to live really close to Disneyland and went most days!

Just because your favorite fitness influencer/model/ fit friend works out a certain way doesn’t mean you have to! The way to look and feel your best is to find what works for Y-O-U.

Ever heard the saying: “if it’s not hard, it’s not worth doing?” This phrase spreads the false idea that any worthy endeavor HAS to feel hard…but it doesn’t! You’re not better off for suffering more, so why not make your fitness routine feel like fun?
If you said “yes,” let me show you how things can be different.
Have you ever felt…
Flexibility
The answer is not to keep trying harder. Nor is it to blindly muster up as much self-control as possible. Struggling to adhere to a super rigid, extreme plan does not make you weak-minded. In fact, the problem in that case is not you so much as the program itself. I’ll work with you to ensure that you’re set up to be successful by creating a thoughtful, realistic, and achievable training plan. Together, we will make a plan that’s specific yet flexible and designed with you as an individual in mind.
Sustainability
Rather than blindly chasing outcomes, I prefer to take a more calculated approach to goal-setting. Together, we will focus on the impact of the process on your health and well-being. Thoughtfulness about these topics can help you make informed decisions about your health, which leads to greater success throughout the process.
Balance
A more moderate approach doesn’t necessarily mean that progress will be slower. In fact, I’d argue in many cases that you actually end up moving faster in the long run because you’ll be more successfully able to follow through week after week.
You’re not better off just for suffering more! I feel strongly that treating your fitness routine as if it's separate from the rest of your life really doesn't make sense - you have commitments, hobbies, and goals outside of what you do for exercise, and it would be careless to assume that your fitness routine exists in a vacuum. Together we will create a custom plan for you to ensure that the process of maintaining a solid routine doesn’t feel nearly so daunting or exhausting.
